AIM Baseball Philosophy

The philosophy at Athletes In Motion is to provide world-class, comprehensive training to dedicated baseball players with a passion to play at the next level. Hard work and dedication are keys to success and are qualities found in all of our athletes.

The coaches and instructors at Athletes In Motion all have an extensive baseball background and years of training experience. They also share the belief that to be a better player, not only do you have to work on the skills of baseball, but you also have to train your body to become a better athlete. Every program offered at Athletes In Motion contains a strength and conditioning component. We take a further integrated approach by offering players nutritional advice, mental game support, and body recovery and prevention techniques.

You’ll never find our athletes or coaches taking shortcuts, which is one reason why our players exclusively swing wood bats all year long. It’s our belief that swinging anything but wood handicaps the player and does not work towards our goal of preparing the athlete to play at the next level.

Lastly, we believe in challenging ourselves every chance we get therefore we elect to play an independent schedule. This allows us to hand pick our games and our competition, which often means we travel out of state to play teams that will challenge us and give us a better game.

What We Do

Athletes In Motion provides sports performance training to athletes of all levels. It is essential for every athlete to supplement their team or sport practice with a quality training program. Practice helps you hone your skills and a training program builds a bigger, faster, stronger you. This equates to not only being able to make contact with the ball, but hitting the ball with so much force, you knock it out of the park!

Starting at age 8, athletes can join the AIM Class which is offered in Beaverton, Portland and Clackamas. This class works to improve the athlete's Speed, Power, Agility, Reaction and Quickness (SPARQ).

Athletes In Motion also offers group Strength & Conditioning sessions at various times with various trainers. Athletes receive a personalized program built specifically for their goals and are trained in a group setting in order to promote accountability and levels of success.

Each winter, Athletes In Motion trains more professional baseball players than anywhere else in the Northwest. The same methodology and intensity is offered to dedicated High School athletes in our Winter Conditioning program.

In the Fall and Summer, AIM hosts 18U and 19U Wood Bat Baseball teams. The athletes that participate on these teams are dedicated to working hard and playing at the next level - collegiate and pro! Our 19U Summer team preps the players for playing in college by traveling to play the top teams, being exposed to college coaches and scouts and visiting schools along the way.

Strength & Conditioning is incorportated into every AIM program. If interested in hitting or pitching lessons, we can connect you with a quality instructor. While these are not directly offered by AIM, we have several scouts and pro players that use our facility for this purpose.

Athletes In Motion swings exclusively wood bats.

Want to Play Baseball at University of Oregon?

The AIM Summer Baseball Team is scheduled to appear in the Grant Smith Wood Bat Tournament in Eugene, Oregon on 6/16 - 6/19. While down in Eugene, the AIM baseball guys will visit their first 4-year university at the University of Oregon.

The visit will include a 1 hour campus tour, an admissions session and a tour of the UofO Athletic Department.

We encourage all the guys to get a head start and check out the UofO website for school details and admission requirements.

Additionally, here is some information we've found regarding their Baseball Program:

Coach: George Horton
Phone: (541) 346-4481

The Oregon Baseball staff asks that prospective student-athletes complete a Questionnaire and also send video footage using youtube.com. The Duck Baseball youtube page and instructions can be reached at youtube.com/DuckBaseball.

Remember, when you contact a coach, ALWAYS be sure to include your name, sport, age, and grade in school. It is also helpful to include a copy of your school transcript, and a resume of your athletic and academic accomplishments.

IF YOU ARE A COLLEGE TRANSFER:

Based on current NCAA rules, the University of Oregon CANNOT respond via e-mail or phone to any four-year college transfer student without the student-athlete obtaining a release from the first college and faxing that release to the University of Oregon Athletic Department at (541) 346-7227. Once the release is obtained from the first college, then the University of Oregon coach will be able to contact you. In sports other than football, baseball and basketball, four-year college transfer students should make sure their current college will release them to be immediately eligible to compete before considering the University of Oregon.

Start of Season - Summer Baseball BBQ

Wow, what an amazing day! Today at AIM was the team BBQ for our summer baseball guys. We had great weather, an amazing turn out, and delicious food! Thank you to everyone who came out! It was great to meet everyone and get some faces put with names!

It was also nice to see that we could have a BBQ and still eat healthy. Nutrition is vital for any athlete. We all work too hard to diminish results by eating the wrong foods. To get the results we seek, it's important to get the right nutrients by eating the right foods. This means a lot of lean proteins and vegetables with some whole grains & fruit. We believe it's best to eat whole, natural foods whenever possible and remember to drink plenty of water. Some say the most important nutrient for all athletes, is water.
